Much cooler this week with frost and freeze chance

Oct 14, 2024Oct 14, 2024

It will be a much cooler week with temperatures performing below average through the next several days. Winds are still breezy Monday morning but have eased and temperatures have fallen to the 40s. We are 15° to 20° cooler than we were Sunday morning. With extra cloud cover around and breezy NNW winds, we won’t recover much into the afternoon. High temperatures today will peak in the upper 50s.

We have the chance for a few isolated showers today. The cooler northerly winds coming over Lake Michigan are drawing moisture into the state. Some of these will drift south into central Indiana. Spotty rain chances will be possible throughout the day but anything we receive will be light. A few more showers will be possible through the overnight hours into early Tuesday.

We see more sunshine tomorrow but temperatures will remain cool. Areas of patchy frost are possible, particularly in our northern counties.

As skies clear midweek, temperatures will fall even farther overnight. Frost conditions are possible early Wednesday and widespread frost is likely early Thursday with some possibly dropping to freezing levels.

We shift away from the below average temperatures late in the week. Sunny skies will prevail on into the weekend. Saturday and Sunday high temperatures return to the 70s.
